George W. Childs (k-8) Philadelphia Public Elementary School has teamed up with Iowa State University and Philadelphia organizations - Neighbors Invested in Childs Elementary (NICE), The Big Sandbox, and other school community collaborators - to reimagine and transform its schoolyard into a vibrant learning landscape for students and the surrounding community.

Students, parents, teachers, staff, and community members are encouraged to complete a survey that will help determine what elements should be incorporated into the new schoolyard. What’s next?
We are working on developing a vision, master plan, phasing plan, implementation plan, & cost estimates for each schoolyard. We need your help! Your input is very valuable in the design process to ensure your new schoolyard is exactly what your school community needs.
