Project Recess Capital Campaign Launches
On December 2, NICE announced our Project Recess Capital Campaign to raise the remaining funds needed to break ground on the magical rooftop playground that was first imagined for GW Childs students years ago. We have worked so hard as a community to make this vision come alive and hope you will join us in this next phase of bringing the power of play to the students of GW Childs.

We are excited to announce that a member of the NICE Board has made a generous matching gift to the Project Recess campaign. Dollar for dollar, all donations made to Project Recess between now and December 31st will be matched up to $5000! For every dollar you give, Project Recess gets two!
Together, we can make significant progress towards our goal and close out 2019 with over $15,000 committed to Project Recess.

The Mitten Tree at GW Childs
GW Childs Student Council is collecting donations of new hats, mittens, and scarves for students this holiday season.
Donations can be dropped off at the Mitten Tree in the school lobby during school hours at 1599 Wharton Street.
Volunteer in the GW Childs Library!
G.W. Childs is looking for volunteers to help in the library. Volunteers will help students check out books, read to student, and help to shelve books. This is a fun opportunity for anyone interested in literacy, education, and helping the local community. Childs is conveniently located in South Philadelphia near the Ellsworth/Federal stop on the Board Street Line.
Volunteers must have their clearances and are expected to commit to three hours, once a week during the school day.

Our third annual A NICE Night fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Circle of Hope, located at 1125 S. Broad Street. We hope you can make it!
